Notice for Start of Classes for Class XI
It is an honour and privilege to serve as the Principal of Railway Higher Secondary School/APDJ, an educational institution which was set up by a few enthusiasts of Alipurduar Junction way back in the year 1953. First and foremost, I would like to express my deep sentiments of gratitude to every one of you for your constant support, love and concern towards our institution which enables and encourages us to strive hard to carry forward the mission of spreading value-based knowledge to one and all. Education is not only an act of acquiring knowledge but also learning relevant skills to lead life and forming one’s personality. This is an ennobling process of growth. Railway Higher Secondary School/APDJ bestows holistic education, immense learning experiences and other academic quests through the most innovative and progressive ways. The students of our school are making their mark not only in academics but also in the field of sports, music, fine arts, social service etc. Our endeavour is to maintain a perfect harmony between the school curriculum and the extra-curricular activities. I am positive that in times to come we will continue this committed journey with elevated enthusiasm and persistently provide a platform of holistic learning to the young generation of learners. Our School's History
Though Railway H. S. School, Alipurduar Jn. started its journey way back in 1953 but it is very difficult to find any written histogenesis record of the school. It is only during the Golden Jubilee celebration year that a souvenir was brought out and Shri Deepak Mukherjee, the then Principal(IC) of the school, contributed an article to it, with the topic : Rly. Higher Secondary School, APD Jn, in retrospect . In fact, in this article he put down many significant facts about the school which will remain as a gift from his pen for the posterity. Some mention worthy excerpts from the said article are put below verbatim which will speak for the glorious history of the school.
