It is an honour and privilege to serve as the Principal of Railway Higher Secondary School/APDJ, an educational institution which was set up by a few enthusiasts of Alipurduar Junction way back in the year 1953. First and foremost, I would like to express my deep sentiments of gratitude to every one of you for your constant support, love and concern towards our institution which enables and encourages us to strive hard to carry forward the mission of spreading value-based knowledge to one and all. Education is not an act of acquiring knowledge but learning relevant skills to lead life and forming one’s personality. This is an ennobling process of growth. Railway Higher Secondary School/APDJ bestows holistic education, immense learning experiences and other academic quests through the most innovative and progressive ways. The students of our school are making their mark not only in academics but also in the field of sports, music, fine arts, social service etc. Our endeavour is to maintain a perfect harmony between the school curriculum and the extra-curricular activities. I am positive that in times to come we will continue this journey with elevated enthusiasm and persistently provide a platform of holistic learning to the young generation of learners. Our School's History
Though Railway School, Alipurduar Jn. has started in 1953 but it is very difficult to find written histogenenis record of the school. It is only during the Golden Jubliee celebration year that a souvenir has been published and Shri Deepak Mukherjee, the then Principal(IC) has contributed an article in it, with the topic : Rly.Higher Secondary School, APD Jn, in retrospect . And it is in this article he has collected and compiled many facts about the school, which will remain as a gift from his pen for the posterity.
